Emu Logic emu farm is nestle in the Western foothills of the Warrumbungle Mountains, 20 minutes north of the quaint village Tooraweenah, only a short 50minute drive from Coonabarabran, Coonamble or Gilgandra and only 1 hour and 30minutes from Dubbo. This makes us a wonderful day trip opportunity if visiting one of these country localities. We have collected a list of local attractions and accommodations to ensure your visit to our local area is a memorable one.

Tooraweenah

Listed as a historical village it is a great place to stop and relax while enjoying the hospitality of the locals. You can stroll around and learn the history of this town before enjoying a good Pub meal at the Mountain View Hotel. The Tooraweenah Caravan Park is a great place to make yourself comfortable before exploring the area further.

Warrumbungle National Park

Listed as Australia's first Dark Sky Park the Warrumbungle mountains offer a wonderful experience to not only bushwalkers but stargazers as well. With walks to suit most levels of experience alongside multiple camp ground options you can choose to visit just for the day or experience the serenity of camping in the Australian outback. 

Coonabarabran

Known as the as 'The capital of Australia's Astronomy' and the gateway to the the Dark night sky park Coonabarabran offers a wonderful opportunity for stargazers of every age and skill level.

You can visit Siding Springs Observatory for a look into the work being done to better understand the vastness of space. Or for a more personal hands on experience book in with Donna the Astronomer to be guided through space by a renowned legend.

While in the area it is also worth visiting Pilliga Pottery for an opportunity to view and purchase some wonderful works of pottery, while there you can enjoy a delicious meal on the idyllic property.

If gemstones and dinosaurs are more on your interest level drop into Crystal Kingdom to view some rare gemstones and fossils, the giftshop is wonderful place to pick up unique gifts. 

Coonamble

A rural country town that boasts wonderful scenery and local artworks, it is worth dropping into the Outback Arts Gallery to see many local  and regional artists including many indigenous artists. 

If you want to explore more of the great outdoors and enjoy bird watching the Macquarie Marshes are a great option to find yourself amongst all that Australian bush has to offer.

If you wish to make this your base for day trips to explore the area there are many accommodation options available including the Riverside Holiday Park for all levels of accommodation. if you want to experience the joy of farm living there is the option to stay at the farm stay on Gilgooma where you can full immerse yourself in life in the bush.

 

Gilgandra

A historic town known for its connection with the "Cooee" March and collection of windmills. You can stop in at the rural museum for a look at the collection of antiquities. Or grab a coffee and view the display at the Information Centre before strolling along the bank of the Castlereagh river and admiring the collection of windmills.

With plenty of accommodation options and located only a short drive from Dubbo Gilgandra is a great place to set up base for day trips to explore the local area.   

 

Dubbo

As a city Dubbo offers many of the modern amenities you could ask for with a multitude of accommodation and restaurant options. As Emu Logic is only a 126km north you can stay here and come to visit us for the day.

Many come to visit Taronga Western Plains Zoo to view the array of wildlife and have an animal encounter. Or you may wish to visit the old Dubbo Goal for a step back in time.
