Easter 2026
3 weeks late but as they say better late then never. As the end of April is very quickly coming to end and we look forward to what May might bring it seems a good time to actually recall all that has happened.
As a family business who celebrates Easter and particularly the Christian aspects of this holiday it always feels like a special time, even among the chaos of farm, business and family life. While it does often seem to come and go quickly (especially with the school holidays following it) we do try and pause to take time for a Good Friday and Easter Sunday service and to remember the wonderful blessing that what given to us through Jesus' sacrifice and what that means for us even now.

The hollow egg to represent the empty tomb is a delicious way to remember what this holiday means and the young ones in the family always enjoy a hunt around the house after a visit from the easter bunny. They also get to have fun and share the joy by leaving some eggs around the farm shop shed for the tourists that visit us over this time.

The Easter holidays are usually the start of our tourist season although this year was a very slow start. We are assuming this is mostly due to the fuel prices being up quite high at the start of the holidays so we hope looking forward to the July School holidays when we will have the chicks hatching that the fuel situation in Australia has calmed down. Although the holidays were quieter then we would have hoped we did still get a few through for tours which the emus obviously enjoy as they get some treats. Many of those that come to visit are camping in the Warrumbungle National Park and after they have done a walk, as the day heats up will come and explore the local area. April has stayed warm and like many areas we haven't had much rain which is also why we believe numbers may be down for those camping.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter and school holidays (for those that have children at school). In chaotic times we are looking forward to rain when it comes and the fuel prices settling so we can enjoying seeing everyone come July when we will have another batch of emu chicks.
In the meantime preparations are underway for ANZAC day coming up as we honor the sacrifices made by many Australian and New Zealand troops over the years to keep our country safe.
So April is quite a busy month, although there doesn't seem to be a quiet month around here at moment. But even with all the busyness we are grateful for this beautiful patch of Australia we get to call home and work on as a whole family.
